Apple Pie Filling


It's Food Friday!

I don't like apple pie, but I like apple pie filling. I know it doesn't even make sense, and I have no explanation for it at all. And the fact that I like cheddar cheese on it? I surprise myself sometimes.

2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1 inch chunks
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbs flour
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla
4 tbs water

Place apple chunks in a medium saucepan. Mix together sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples and mix well. Stir over medium high heat until apples begin to release juice. Reduce heat, add vanilla and water, and heat until apples are soft.

Yummm! For some reason I've never thought of eating apple pie filling just by itself... but that makes so much sense! Doi! Thank you for the wonderful recipe!

Thanks woman! I'm opposite you, I love the outside of the apple buy better than the inside lol. I'll give you my filling if I can keep the crust :)

Apple pie filling MUST be eaten with shredded cheddar cheese but a pie must be a la mode!
