I had French onion soup at Panera Bread this weekend and loved it so much, that I actually made some later that night. I used this recipe, more or less. Allrecipes.com is great because you get to take suggestions from all the reviews. I get a lot of recipes from Allison's site, and I know she has a French onion soup recipe too. I'll have to try hers sometime to compare.

This is DKNY's Be Delicious and Golden Delicious Rollerball Duo. Billy got it for me for my birthday. That was very sweet of him, especially since I told him no surprise gifts this year because I wanted him to buy me a bunch of landscaping stuff. I think I'm going to return it. This is going to sound rude, but how can he not know what scents I like by now? Vanilla! Coconut! We've had discussions, especially since he's gotten me perfume before. He did say that he just wanted to get me something from Sephora because I was talking about not being able to find any of my little Sephora bags anywhere (I'm going to frame my gift bags, idea from Pinterest, will post later (much later, because I'm nowhere near starting that project)).

This is turning into a long story. Anyway, he's ok with me returning it especially since he returned the mechanic's creeper I got him for his birthday.

Today is my birthday and since it's my birthday, I'm being totally vain and posting a picture of myself. I'm 39. Wow. That pic is me at the young age of 38.

I opened cards and presents while having breakfast (crumb cake and mini chocolate cupcakes) in bed. Billy planted 4 rosebushes I got with birthday money. I think I'll go back tomorrow and get 4 more. I can't wait to have a row of blooming rosebushes. I had my first shamrock shake from Mcd's - yum. And, because I've been wearing my pj's since 3 this afternoon and I didn't feel like putting on real clothes, we got take out from Chili's.

It was a great day!

A crazy bird thing happened today. About 11:30 this morning, I noticed a zillion birds at the birdbath. Turns out they were cedar waxwings. They were scared off by something, so I went and filled up the birdbath until it overflowed. About 2 hours later, it was completely empty!

I've cut off my nails and I've stopped polishing them for Lent. This may not seem so difficult, but for me it is. Especially since I got a new polish while on vacation and I haven't tried it yet. My sister is visiting today, maybe I will force her to polish her nails with it.

When Allison posted funnel cakes on her blog, I commented that it looked so easy that maybe I will give it a try. Well, it took me a year, but I finally gave it a try! And they were easy, and so good that I'm sure I will be making these again soon.
