For the past 4 Saturdays, Billy and I have been going to Layla's for greek food. He usually gets the gyro, I always get the falafel sandwich and we share some hummus. I need to attempt to make falafels sometime. I hope you click the link to see how good the food looks, because my phone pic doesn't do it justice at all.

Library visit!
Seriously...I'm Kidding by Ellen DeGeneres. I'm reading this now and it's a funny, quick read.
Storm of the Century by Stephen King.
Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot. This is my pick for fun, romance. I think there are 2 more books in this series.
Candyland by Candy Spelling. I wonder if this will be as interesting as Tori's books.
Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. I remember when this book was big. I'm probably the last person to read it.
Happy reading!

Well, the roast dinner I wanted for Easter was made last Sunday - a week late, but delicious! And, Billy made everything which was great - roast fixed in the crockpot, veggies roasted in the oven, and Sister Schubert rolls (my mom got me hooked on those). Billy always brings his mom over to our house on Sundays and his sister even came over so it was a nice family dinner. And, the daisies I put on the table for Easter still look so pretty.

All these pillows came from Anthropologie. Which means they're crazy expensive. Too bad, because I desperately need some bird pillows in my living room.

I invited all of my in-laws over on to my house on Easter for a pot roast dinner. I was really looking forward to it, until someone asked if they could bring ham. I don't like ham. And this isn't a potluck. But, that's exactly what it turned into. People brought devilled eggs, scalloped potatoes, corn, sweet potato casserole, and rolls that I ended up having to bake myself. Of course, I didn't make my pot roast so I had to change my side dishes. I made broccoli cheese casserole and green bean casserole. It was good food, but not what I had planned at all. I also found out that the people that brought ham, didn't come to our last Easter shindig because we grilled burgers and hot dogs. And by the way, they didn't cancel, they just didn't show up.
And as many things as people brought, they didn't bring dessert. That's ok, I think anything would have had a hard time competing with the cake I made. It was a sour cream coconut cake and it was delicious. I really like the fact that this cake is supposed to be made a few days ahead of time. It makes things easier if you're serving it at a get-together. Not that I will be having a get-together ever again.

Last night was the first time I made pesto, and it was delicious! Dinner was gnocchi with pesto and a caesar salad. It was great just going outside and picking some basil to whip up a sauce for dinner. Now maybe I should start growing potatoes for the gnocchi!

I'm loving spring! I just planted some basil, there are little peaches on the peach tree, my one rose in the backyard is about to bloom, the grapevine is growing, the apple blossoms smell lovely, planted more dianthus, the hostas are coming up, the irises and azaleas are blooming, so is the dogwood and verbena and purple clover and clematis, and the fig tree is producing.
