Look who's a big dog now!  Sheldon turned 1 on Saturday (ish).  That's also the day we got our power back on from the winter storm, so all 4 of those blankets he's laying on got washed that very night.  He didn't appreciate them disappearing one by one.  He loved his package of salmon and he also got a new toy that he hasn't completely destroyed - yet.

Sheldon loves to snuggle.

These two together are something else.  Sheldon is on the left and my sister's dog, Indie, is on the right.  They love love love to play.  And they play hard.  Sheldon played too hard while visiting last Saturday, and he tore his front paw pads.  BOTH front paws. I think they only bled a minute and he limped around the next day, but they look pretty good so I think they will heal just fine.  Crazy dogs.

Pay no attention to the dandruff.  If I can find some earplugs, we may attempt another bath today.  No, the real issue here is his tail.  He used to have a pretty white tip of a tail.  Not anymore.  When I say he chews on everything, I really do mean everything!

My nephew, Thomas, says that Sheldon's name should be Mr. Don't Be Fooled By The Cuteness.  I agree.

This is what is left of my fall coffee table centerpiece.  The glass vase they were in (one of my wedding vase centerpieces), was broken in pieces all over the floor.

The very next day he decided to chew up my wedding book.  Both the vase (it was filled with seashells before)  and the book have been in the same place since February, so I thought they were safe.  I should have known better.

We did think ahead and put up a baby gate in front of the fireplace.  How lovely.  We built a fire the other night when we watched a couple movies, and I just knew that he would love to get out the charred logs and eat them.

The other baby gate protects my books.  He's gotten to them twice.  We used to keep him confined to the kitchen with this gate until he escaped, so he actually could eat some more books if he thought hard enough.

This is one of his favorite things to destroy.  If we forget to close the bathroom door, he goes for the wet wipes.  We've had to buy a new container 3 times already.

I would say 'Mr. Don't Be Fooled By The Cuteness' fits him perfectly.

Hmmmmm......an open fireplace screen.  Who could have done this?

Aha!  The culprit left his footprints!

"Who me?"  Someone sneaky is trying to cover up the evidence.

Maggie would be so mad if she knew that dogs were allowed on the bed now.

This is Sheldon after he got into some shoe polish.  His nose is back to normal, but I'm still trying to clean up my bedroom carpet.

I guess Sheldon doesn't realize that the big dog bed on the living room floor is actually meant for him.

I can't let too much time go by without putting up a picture of Sheldon.

Oh, no!  It looks like Mr. Bill is about to be sacrificed in the fire pit!

Sheldon to the rescue!

Sheldon loves his Mr. Bill...

almost as much as he loves sticks.

Sheldon was banished to the backyard while I cleaned up this -

Apparently he has something against fake ficus trees.

Meet Sheldon. He's a 9 week old springer spaniel mix. He looks a little forlorn in the above pic, but that was his first day home. He's definitely livened up a bit since then...

Look at those spots! He even has spots on the roof of his mouth and along his lips. He kind of reminds me of one of these when he opens his mouth (I didn't want to post that picture of the eel because it eeks me out a little).
