I am so addicted to Pinterest. If you are too, you may recognize this. This pic of this purse showed up on the site a few days ago and I think I gasped when I saw it. I love it! And while I 'want' it, I think my sister 'needs' it. Seriously. It's sold by Nordstroms, but unfortunately it says it's not available. Boo.

Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella. The newest one, I think. Still have to read Shopaholic and Sister. Maybe they will have it next time.
Losing It...And Gaining My Life Back One Pound At A Time by Valerie Bertinelli. My biography/autobiography pick.
Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie. A fun romance.
Happy reading!

Since this blog is called 'my pretty purse,' I should start posting more about purses, right? Here's a coin purse from Kate Spade. It's a hedgehog, how funny is that?!

Why am I always saying I'm not crafty? Look what I made -
I'm a horrible singer, so when Ruthie was born, I made Billy sing this to her in the hospital. I found a sign online, but it was $54 (plus shipping I'm sure). I made this one for $7. I was going to put it in my foyer, along with some mirrors I'm wanting, but I think both will look good in the black and yellow room (aka future nursery). Now I need to find new stuff for my foyer!
Speaking of 'signs,' on my first day back at work after I had Ruthie, this was the song that was on the music system when I walked in the building.

It's a rainy day today, so how about a little sunshine?
Isn't this lovely? This is the inspiration for the back bedroom. Now I need to find the perfect shade of yellow.

Audition: A Memoir. By Barbara Walters. I'm a fan of The View, not so much Barbara herself, but I liked it.
This Is Not The Story You Think It Is: A Season Of Unlikely Happiness. By Laura Munson. Good for her for having patience with her husband, because I seriously was wanting her to say "Fine, I don't love you either. Grow up or get out."
Barbie and Ruth: The Story of the World's Most Famous Doll and the Woman Who Created Her. By Robin Gerber. It was interesting learning about Ruth Handler and her company, Mattel. Still haven't made up my mind if I like her!
I'm in the process of reading -
unSweetined: A Memoir. By Jodie Sweetin. It's not that I'm such a Full House fan, I just like memoirs. Good read, so far.
Next -
Shopaholic Takes Manhatten. By Sophie Kinsella. I've read 3 other Shopaholic books all out of order, but I get it. They're fun.
Getting Rid of Bradley. By Jennifer Crusie. Another fun read.

I hope these 'denim' leggings are everything I want them to be. I'll let you know.
I'll also let you know when I finally break down and buy some pajama jeans.
You know the commercial - "I'm too lazy for real pants" - that's totally me.

Look what I got! I love my mini Keurig. I had 2 $25 JCPenney gift cards from my mother-in-law that I had saved from Christmas and my birthday, and the plan was to get the Mr. Coffee Keurig that was on sale for $80. Instead of the salesperson telling me they were out, she said that the system shows they have them, but they can't find them. She, and the manager, offered me the mini for the same price and I said YES! After some other mysterious discount, the total amount was $23. Yay! Although, the money I saved is already gone - just look at my coffee drawer.

I'm surprised I pulled this off, not only because of my lack of craftiness, but especially my lack of patience. It could actually use a few more 'flowers', but I decided I was done.
I found the perfect book to use at the antique mall store where everyone sets up a booth to sell their junk. I've gotten a lot of books there - for decoration and to read.
I'm not sure which tutorial I used since I apparently didn't save it, but here's a good one.

This blog needs a new look. (Hey, Allison - start thinking for me.)
A lot has happened since I last posted. Maggie, my sweet beagle mix, died on June 29. She was 14 years old. She was diagnosed with kidney failure mid March, so I'm very thankful that I had those last 3 months with her. She was the best. I still haven't put up her food and water bowls. We will get another dog someday, I'm just not sure when.
I was pregnant. At 18 weeks in, the baby's heart stopped beating. On what would have been our 19th week, I gave birth to a little girl, Ruthie, 7 inches long, 6.2 ounces. Even though I have my sad moments, I remember how happy she made me. I really don't know what I would do without all the things the hospital gave us - a little bracelet with her name, an outfit, a tiny bear, her birth announcement, and a blanket. That blanket especially. Even though it all had to do with genetics and chromosomes, I decided that some changes needed to be made.
And the biggest change is that I've gone part-time at work. Seriously, the only thing that gets me out of bed, is knowing I only have to be there 5 hours! I work in retail and I'm so tired of it. I've been there 16 years. Not only does the company not value the work I do, but according to my last review, the managers don't even recognize what I do. Enough about work - yuck.
Ok, enough sadness for today! Blogging's all right, I'm going to try to keep it up whether anyone is reading or not. Plus, since I get off work at noon everyday, it gives me something other than housework to do!
