Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Commander in Chic.  Love this brand and love this color.  I'm just going to describe it as a dusty purple, but a lot of people see some gray and taupe in it, too.

It's the last day of Nail Polish Week!  I'm ending it with my favorite polish ever, Bubble Bath by OPI.  There was actually a 'whiter' version of this that I liked more, but I like this really pale pink color, too.  Besides the color, I think I consider this my favorite because after I got it (birthday, March, 2008), I really started getting into nail polish which I really enjoy and I kind of think of the whole nail polishing thing as kind of a hobby now.  Also, it was my first 'fancy salon' polish :)

Day 6.  This is definitely one of my favorites.  In fact, when I was swatching this for Nail Polish Week, I really wanted to keep it on, but my toes are red right now so I thought I might look too Christmas-y.  This is Holly-Day from China Glaze.

Day 5 of Nail Polish Week.  This is my only scented polish and it's by Revlon (actually my only Revlon polish, too).  The color is Not So Blueberry.  Not one of my favorite colors, but the fact that it's scented is really cool.

This is the gray I was looking for.  Day 4 of Nail Polish Week is Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Wet Cement.

I can't tell you how much I love the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure line.  The wide brushes freaked me out in the beginning, but it's fine, really.  Day 3's color is Gray by Gray.  It's not gray, though, is it?  But, it is a really nice shade of blue.

Day 2 of Nail Polish Week is You Don't Know Jacques! by OPI.  I think I had initially bought this polish just because it was popular, but after a couple days of wearing it, I now know why it's must have.  It's just such an interesting color, I love it.

It's Nail Polish Week here at My Pretty Purse!  I'm starting day 1 with my one and only bottle of Zoya.  I had no idea where I could even buy a Zoya polish until I had gone into Whole Foods one day a few months ago.  This is Shay.  I love it, even though the color reminds me of Band-Aids.

I knew that if I ever actually bought a Chanel polish, that this would be the one - Vamp.  I love it!  I kind of like my short nails too, but I'll probably start growing them out since I'm polishing again.

Giving up painting my nails for Lent is haaaaaarrrrdd. This is a pic from 2010 when we went to see KISS in concert. It's kind of blurry and I've got some major tip wear going on, but you get the idea.

I've cut off my nails and I've stopped polishing them for Lent. This may not seem so difficult, but for me it is. Especially since I got a new polish while on vacation and I haven't tried it yet. My sister is visiting today, maybe I will force her to polish her nails with it.

And so, for my nail post this week, this is an old pic of OPI Louvre Me Louvre Me Not.

Apparently I'm too lazy to do my nails this week, so I'm putting up an old pic of a french manicure I did way back in 2009. Hopefully I've gotten straighter with my lines since then. I think there's a lot of people that don't like french manis, I actually really like them. French pedis, on the other hand, totally not a fan.

Today's swatch is Essie Marshmallow. It's actually the color I wore on my fingernails for my wedding. I like it. It's a nice soft white. Even though Essie is easier to get ahold of now that they are sold at Walmart, I only have 2 - this and a light pink. Both seem kind of streaky at first, and then even out. Maybe I'll try another color one day.

Velvet Bow by China Glaze. Love this color. Hope you can tell by the pics what a pretty deep, dark red this is.

Even though I desperately wanted Velvet Bow for Christmas, the first polish I wore from the set was Twinkle Lights. I thought it would be sparkly and festive for the New Year. And, of course, let me say it before you do, I'm not a very good swatcher. Here is my attempt at swatching China Glaze Twinkle Lights -

This is the ONLY way I will remove a glitter polish. I've seen it on nail blogs and even on Pinterest, and it's awesome. Cotton balls soaked with regular polish remover and foil. Seriously. Awesome.

One of my Christmas presents! I love it. Velvet bow was on my wish list, and apparently it was a little difficult for Billy to track down. He finally found it in set, so I got 3 surprise polishes! If I was a good blogger there would be swatches of these in this post. But, well, you know. Anyway, the red glitter looks a lot like Ruby Pumps (which I wore on my toes for my wedding!), but I can't wait to try that gorgeous green creme and the gold/red/green glitter.

Pink Ombre Manicure

I think, technically, you're supposed to take a light color and a dark color and do some mixing. I'm a little lazy and for some reason I have a lot of pinks in my collection (surprise, surprise) so I did it the easy way.

I took the pics with my phone, so excuse the badness. My rechargeable camera batteries aren't holding a charge anymore and as I've mentioned before, I'm a little lazy so I haven't gotten around to buying any yet.

China Glaze White On White
OPI Bubble Bath (my fave)
Essie Fiji
OPI Pink-ing Of You
NYC (not only can I not find a name on it, I also can't even tell you how old this polish is!)

Water Marbling

I am horrible at swatching, but I really wanted to get some pictures of my first attempt at water marbling. You Tube has great tutorials so I won't go into details, but basically you drop different colors of nail polish in water to create a bullseye, use a toothpick to swirl a design, and then stick your nail in the water. Repeat 9 more times! So, yeah, it's time consuming, especially cleaning up your fingers afterwards, but I think it's worth it.

Sephora by OPI Fancy Schmancy
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Gray by Gray

I was wearing silver glitter before I decided to do this, so I can't tell if that's what is coming through or if it's the Fancy Schmancy.

Man, I really need to work on my finger poses, not to mention the camera work.
