I'm Dreaming Of...

A shabby chic bedroom! We are closing on our first house November 29 and I'm so excited! I can't stop thinking of all the things I want to do - get rid of bedroom carpet, take down bathroom wallpaper, paint the kitchen cabinets and get new countertops. That's not too much, right? I'm going to try to remember to take before pics.

And Maggie will finally have a backyard!

My baby was sick the other night. Apparently macadamia nuts are really bad for dogs. She's fine now and still cuter than ever, despite the mole thingy growing on her chin. She's still mad that the vet called her Nanny McPhee!

Pink Ombre Manicure

I think, technically, you're supposed to take a light color and a dark color and do some mixing. I'm a little lazy and for some reason I have a lot of pinks in my collection (surprise, surprise) so I did it the easy way.

I took the pics with my phone, so excuse the badness. My rechargeable camera batteries aren't holding a charge anymore and as I've mentioned before, I'm a little lazy so I haven't gotten around to buying any yet.

They've Hatched!

Last month when my nephews came to visit me, we got crafty and made dinosaur eggs. Since then, they have been incubating in one of their closets. We finally got around to cracking them open when I went for a visit over the weekend. They were fun to make, but it was even more fun pulling out the little dinosaurs!

Water Marbling

I am horrible at swatching, but I really wanted to get some pictures of my first attempt at water marbling. You Tube has great tutorials so I won't go into details, but basically you drop different colors of nail polish in water to create a bullseye, use a toothpick to swirl a design, and then stick your nail in the water. Repeat 9 more times! So, yeah, it's time consuming, especially cleaning up your fingers afterwards, but I think it's worth it.

Just A Few Products I'm In Like With

How come I am just now finding out that Pond's cold cream is the most awesome stuff ever invented? This is seriously the best makeup remover I've ever tried. I used to use a toner (after makeup wipes, and a face wash) just to make sure I've gotten every last bit of makeup off my face - and you should've seen the cotton ball. Yuck. Now, I've ditched the toner. Love this stuff.

I have naturally curly hair that turns into a hot mess if I don't use some sort of no-frizz product. I've been using Catwalk's Curl's Rock for about a year now and it works great. Although, and I'm just being picky here, I hate the goopiness feeling on my hands when I wash up afterward. I also hate the price - it's around $15.

Aussie Instant Freeze hair spray is called that for a reason. Instant freeze. Yes. Exactly. Why does 'flexible hold' even exist? And I love love love the directions - "It's hair spray. You spray it on your hair."

Another Coach Post

It's actually been awhile since I've looked at the Coach website, and even though I get their emails every week, I rarely even open them. Today is Saturday, a day off from work, and I've been lounging on the couch in my yoga pants all morning 'surfing the net' (is that still cool to say? How are the kids wording it nowadays?) Here's a few things I like -

One Of A Kind Artwork

My nephews came to visit me a couple weeks ago and we did a zillion things - making dinosaur eggs, baking monkey bread, going to Playtime Pizza (no one wants to ride with me on the go karts because I'm sloooooowww), and going to a baseball game. And...creating great masterpieces of art. On the left is 'Cubes and Tornadoes', and on the right is 'Stripes'. I love them and they look absolutely fabulous above my fireplace.

Goodbye Harley

Yep. Billy sold it a few days ago. He was ready, it had some sort of oil issues going on and he was sick of buying parts for it and then fixing it all the time. Someone remind me to never buy him accessories for vehicles. I hate that I bought him ape hangers and heated grips and now they're gone. But the good news is that we're saving 300 bucks a month! As for toys, he still has his drums and he has a Datsun Z car he needs to fix up sometime!

Makeup

Love using this beauty sponge to apply my makeup. This one from Target is $10, half the price of the one at Sephora. I've been using Revlon Colorstay for a while now, since my last makeup was discontinued (I hate it when they do that!), and I'm really happy with it. Speaking of discontinued, I freaked out when I couldn't find my Max Factor Lipfinity anymore. Thankfully I've found something to replace it, although I think I spent at least $50 in lipsticks in trying to find the perfect one. After trying some Covergirls, I'm really liking Maybelline Superstay. Mauve (I think that's the name) is my fave, but I'm still searching for a red that looks good on me.

Cake!

I love this picture! The cake was actually from Walmart so I wasn't quite sure how it would turn out, but it was lovely! And tasted really good, too! I'm glad we had enough cake for everyone to take a piece with them. Although, we made everyone assemble their own little cake boxes! No grooms cake, we had a grooms pie instead. Key lime pie from The Fresh Market. The flowers were a quick grab from Walmart when we picked up the cake that afternoon. Thank goodness they had my favorite - pink roses. We got the only 2 bouquets they had. I've already cut off the heads (eek!), dried and sealed them, and they're in one of the centerpiece vases on my coffee table. I also wanted to put a pic up of my thank you notes since they turned out so cute. I loved my invitations so much, that I decided to do my thank you notes in the same way. Pretty!
